1,000 French Travel Words & Phrases

Prepare for 37 everyday travel situations, from the airport to a restaurant, a pharmacy or a ski resort. Every French entry has an English meaning and a recording in the same female voice used throughout this course.

This is a practical collection of 1,000 distinct learning entries, not a frequency ranking. It includes individual words, useful expressions and short sentences. The 37 sections contain 27 or 28 entries each; the first 100 are free.

About the travel list

Why are some entries complete sentences?

In a real travel situation, a short request can be more useful than an isolated word. Every row is distinct and recorded as written.

Are these the 1,000 most frequent French words?

No. The list is organised by the 37 situations above. Each section contains 27 or 28 practical entries, rather than a claimed frequency ranking.

Where can I check travel and emergency information?

For current transport and safety advice, consult the relevant operator or authority. See France.fr travel information, the RATP travel guide and Service-Public emergency contacts.

What does the audio pronounce?

Each play button reads the entire French word or phrase beside it in the same female voice as the other French Course lists.

What is free?

Entries 1–100, including their meanings and pronunciation. The remaining 900 require an active French Course membership.
